Sniffling, sneezing, and all around feeling achey? Try this simple homemade tea made with proven cold and flu fighting ingredients.

This tea is made primarily with two simple ingredients: Fresh ginger and thyme.

Ginger

Studies have found that fresh ginger effectively fights respiratory viruses. (The same results were not found in powdered form, so to get the benefit, you want to use fresh ginger in cooking or teas).

Thyme

Thyme stimulates the immune system, expels phlegm and relieves congestion and coughing. (1) It has also exhibited antiviral effects against various viruses. (23).

Warm up a pot of water, and get this brewing at the first sign of a cold or flu to feel relief.
