Once you try these almond and goji berry protein bites, you won’t want to go to the vending machine for a snack break ever again.
Not only can they curb a sweet tooth craving without refined sugar, but these bad boys make a great pre- or post-workout snack. The best part? You’ll only need one or two squares to feel satisfied (thank you, fiber and protein!).
Whip up a batch at the beginning of the week, and keep them tucked away in your desk, for when a craving hits midday.
Here are some of the health benefits:
Dates are a wonderful natural sweetener that satisfy sweet cravings without the downside of refined sugar. They contain fiber, as well as a variety of minerals.
Almonds contain healthy fats, fiber, and protein. They can help curb hunger and may aid in weight loss.
Goji berries are a superfood high in Vitamin A which may help promote healthy skin and a strong immune system.
Almond Goji Berry Protein Bites
Time: 5 min
1 cup almonds
1 cup pitted dates
1/4 cup dried goji berries
- In a blender, blend almonds into a flour. (A bullet blender works well here).
- Add the dates and goji berries, and then blend again until a smooth paste forms. Press it into a small rectangular tupperware, and then flip upside down onto plate. (Use a butter knife to release the sides if you need to, but it should pop pretty easily out of the tupperware.
- Finally, cut the almond date block into squares or bars. Enjoy!
