Grilled pineapple with lime zest is a super simple summer treat. Pineapple is naturally sweet, and the heat of the grill will caramelize the natural sugar. The lime zest will add a fresh kick while brightening it up with some color. A good summer BBQ tip is that an enzyme in pineapple helps you break down protein and better digest meat (like organic, grass-fed burgers!). Save some raw pineapple, but grill a few slices for a delicious appetizer or dessert.

Benefits

Pineapple supports healthy digestion, and in particular, is a source of bromelain, which helps your body digest protein. It is a great source of Vitamin C, which supports your immune system and collagen production for ageless skin.

Lime is a source of powerful phytochemicals called limonoids, which have been shown in laboratory tests with animals and with human cells, to help fight cancers of the mouth, skin, lung, breast, stomach and colon. Lime zest is a particularly rich source of limonoids.
