This adorable cinnamon fig smoothie is worth taking your blender out of hibernation on a cold winter morning.

The winter usually means oatmeal for breakfast, but this smoothie contains warming winter ingredients, including cinnamon and ginger, making the typical summer drink more cold-weather appropriate.

If you have the time, consider quicky pear, cinnamon, and ginger.

The recipe calls for water, but feel free to use almond milk if you want it to be creamier. The hemp seeds and fruit thicken it up perfectly on its own, and hemp can double as your protein powder.


Hemp seeds add a dose of high quality complete plant-based protein and anti-inflammatory omega 3’s.

Ginger is warming, supports digestion, and provides anti-inflammatory benefits.

Cinnamon adds warmth, sweetness, and balances blood sugar.

Banana and pear add fiber and nutrients while making the shake creamy and narually sweet.

Warming Winter Smoothie: Cinnamon Fig

Serves 1


1 cup of water

1 banana

1 pear, cored

3 Tbsp. hemp seeds

3 fresh or dried figs

1/2 inch-1 inch piece of ginger

1/4 tsp cinnamon


Place all ingredients in a high speed blender and blend on high for 30 seconds – 1 minute.
