Shocking footage has emerged showing the Times Square car attacker running over dozens of pedestrians in what clearly appears to be premeditated. (scroll down for video)

Given the incident’s location—surrounded by countless businesses and landmarks—there were countless security cameras filming the horrifying event from multiple angles.

One video shows how it all began, with the driver executing a u-turn, orienting his vehicle to align with a sidewalk, and then revving his engine full speed into the crowd:

The following graphic moments reveal the incomprehensible carnage the driver—now identified as 26-year-old Richard Rojas from the Bronx—was willing to put others through for a motive that yet remains unclear.

As shouts and chaos spread, many pedestrians manage to notice and evade the car before being struck. Some, however, didn’t realize in time:

The horror continues for nearly a minute before the driver crashes into a guard post, bringing the car to an abrupt stop:

At this point, Richard Rojas exits the vehicle, hysterically shouting, jumping, and waving his arms, allegedly shouting, “You were supposed to shoot me! I wanted to kill them!”

His frantic words lend credence to the theory that Richard’s motive was suicide-by-cop, and reports from ABC7 that “he thought the end of the world was coming” confirm that he is mentally ill.

Only one person was killed in the gruesome attack: 18-year-old Alyssa Elsman, a tourist from Michigan who was visiting New York with her family.

Four other people were critically injured but expected to survive.
