Too many people allow their happiness to suffer by working at a job they hate, surrounding themselves with negative people or being too afraid to step out of their comfort zone. It’s important to remember that you are responsible for your own happiness.

Here are 10 things you should never tolerate from life:

1. People-Pleasing

When you constantly seek approval from others, you are lessening the power of your own opinion. It’s impossible to make everyone happy, 100% of the time. Trying to please others will only lead you down a path to unhappiness. Instead of worrying about the opinions of others, focus on what makes you happy.

2. Neglecting Your Health

True inner happiness begins with the way you treat yourself. If you aren’t healthy, you won’t be able to enjoy all of the wonderful things in life. Eat a balanced diet, get plenty of sleep, drink lots of water and stay active. Always treat your mind, body and soul with respect.

3. Letting People Walk All Over You

Being kind is one thing. But allowing yourself to become a doormat for others shows a lack of respect for yourself. If someone is using you or taking advantage of you, speak up. If they don’t respect you for standing up for yourself, let them go.

4. Staying In Your Comfort Zone

It’s easy to get stuck in your comfort zone because that’s where you feel safe. But in order to learn, grow and experience new things, you need to step outside the box. Have enough courage to allow yourself to experience the world first-hand.

5. Working At A Job You Hate

We all have bills to pay, but settling for a job you hate, just because you have a steady paycheck will cause your happiness to suffer. Even if you make less money by following your passions, you can always adjust your lifestyle to work better with your income. Working at a stressful job that you hate can take a toll on you emotionally, physically and spiritually.

6. Letting Money Rule Your Life

Too many people let money dictate their whole lives. Valuing money over everything else can affect your overall quality of life. The next time you’re stressed out over money, remember that you can’t take it with you. There are plenty of other things in life that are much more important.

7. Having To Constantly Explain Yourself

Regardless of how hard you try to convince them, some people will never understand or support your goals or aspirations. You can only explain yourself so much before it becomes a pointless effort. Remember that you don’t need validation from someone else in order to live your life or go after what you want.

8. Negative Self-Talk

When that little voice inside your head speaks, it can either give your confidence or tear you down. Your thoughts create your reality. Be kind to yourself. Learn from your mistakes but don’t beat yourself up over them. Practice self-love and self-acceptance. It can make all the difference in terms of your happiness.

9. Unsupportive Friends

True friends will lift you up, support you and be there for you when you need it the most. If you have a circle of friends who bash your ideas, make fun of your dreams or dismiss your accomplishments, it’s time to cut them out of your life. Know that you deserve to be around positive people who care about you and want to see you succeed.

10. Not Being Happy

Too many people are unhappy day in and day out, living a life that brings them down. Remember that you can always change your circumstances. Never settle for a life that doesn’t make you happy. Follow your dreams, work hard and live your passions.
