President Donald Trump appears to be quite upset about a federal appeals court’s decision to uphold the suspension on his now-infamous executive order concerning immigration.
Not long ago, President Trump tweeted the following.
SEE YOU IN COURT, THE SECURITY OF OUR NATION IS AT STAKE!

He’s not exactly exaggerating; President Trump could very well push the decision on to the Supreme Court. However, as The Atlantic states, such a move would be likely to result in a 4-4 vote given the currently ‘split’ nature of the Supreme Court. This would mean the appeals court decision stands.
According to the Washington Post, the appeals court’s decision to uphold the suspension on the President’s immigration policy was a unanimous one.
The outlet writes:
Three judges with the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit flatly rejected the government’s argument that the suspension of the order should be lifted immediately for national security reasons and forcefully asserted their ability to serve as a check on the president’s power.
The statement from the judges goes on to assert that the government provided no evidence to support the theory that the nation is truly under threat from any of the countries listed in the executive order.
These countries include:
The judges did not, however, comment on whether or not the ban was truly a “Muslim ban,” as many detractors have referred to it.
Many are reacting to the decision with praise.
“This is a complete victory for the state of Washington,” said Washington State Attorney General Bob Ferguson. He added that the ruling “effectively granted everything we sought.”
Some, however, aren’t as pleased.
