Randall Margraves, the now-famous father of three girls who were all abused by disgraced US Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar, is receiving an outpouring of support from the world at large.
Margraves is famous, of course, for his brazen attempt to pummel Nassar during the pervert’s sentencing in court yesterday.
Nassar, 54, received a sentence of up to 175 years in prison. In other words, the pervert will rot in jail for the rest of his life.
That wasn’t enough for Randall Margraves, who used the time for his victim impact statement to request “five minutes in a room alone with that demon.”
“You know I can’t do that,” the judge replied.
“Fine, one minute,” Margraves offered as a compromise.
When that request earned a negative response, Margraves simply said, “well, I’m going to have to…” and lunged towards the man who had molested all three of his daughters.
He didn’t get very far before bailiffs tackled him to the ground. All the way down, he continued to demand “one minute with that bastard.”
Have a look at the outburst below, in case you missed it.
Unsurprisingly, given the prominence of Nassar’s case, that video spread like wildfire online.
Instead of condemning Margraves’ actions, however, many people are standing in support of him.
Dear Randall Margraves,
We are in your corner, and we've got your back.

As a father of two beautiful daughters with one in gymnastics, keep that dialogue open with our kids. Nassar will be in solitary for the remainder of his life. Randall did what every dad would do. Nassar is lucky for the police. #RandallMargraves

My wife is the kindest, most wonderful person I know. And she says she kind of regrets that court police couldn't have been just a step slower to apprehend #RandallMargraves He is hardly a hero. But he is a parent.

Some, like the following Twitter user, are taking a more balanced approach, suggesting that while Margraves’ behavior should not be praised, he definitely deserves some help with legals fees should they arise.
No, Internet, we should not root for Randall Margraves to be let go by the bailiffs so he can continue his attacking lunge at Larry Nassar in Michigan. That's wrong.
But we should DEFINITELY pay his bail and legal fees.

People from around the world even launched a GoFundMe page to help Margraves cover any legal expenses. As of writing, that page has collected more than $30,000
According to The Independent, however, Margraves will not be facing any charges for his outbursts. The money raised will instead go towards supporting victims of sexual abuse
The Independent further quotes Margraves as apologizing profusely for his actions, stating, “I lost control. I apologize a hundred times. I’m not here to upstage my daughters. I’m here to help them heal.”
According to the outlet, Margraves claims he was distraught after hearing what his daughters had to say during their victim impact statements.
