Over 100 people are believed to have been evacuated after a credible bomb threat was called into Paris, police confirmed.
Distressed citizens were led away from the city’s financial prosecutor’s offices on Monday morning.
Police are currently inspecting the building—specifically the ninth arrondissement—to locate any bombs or hazardous items.
The search is expected to last the rest of the day and comes during a busy time for the financial prosecutor’s office which has been recently involved in numerous high-profile cases.
Some of their investigations involve financial wrongdoings by top presidential candidates Marine Le Pen and Francois Fillon.
According to one source, “A call was made at 10:12am to the police standard for a bomb alert at the financial center of the Rue des Italiens.”
Paris is now in an ongoing state of emergency that’s lasted for months after numerous deadly terror attacks.
On March 17, 2017, a father and son were found murdered with their throats slit after the alleged suspect shouted “Allahu Akbar.”
Back in February, a man armed with a machete was shot to death by Paris military forces after attempting to enter the Louvre museum.
