In an interview on Tuesday with Fox Business, Chairman and CEO of JPMorgan Chase, Jamie Dimon, alluded that in the near future the government will seize control of Bitcoin.
This came only a few months after Dimon came out against the popular cryptocurrency, back in September 2017, when he even threatened to fire bank employees who traded in Bitcoin, calling them “stupid.”
In the older interview, he stated, “I’d fire them in a second. For two reasons: It’s against our rules, and they’re stupid. And both are dangerous.”
However, Dimon seems to have made a full 180, now saying he regrets those past comments, telling Fox Business:
“The blockchain is real. You can have crypto yen and dollars and stuff like that. ICO’s you have to look at individually.”

He then hinted that he may know something about the government’s control in Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies:
“The bitcoin to me was always what the governments are gonna feel about bitcoin as it gets really big, and I just have a different opinion than other people. I’m not interested that much in the subject at all.”
In September, Jamie Dimon called Bitcoin a fraud.
Four months later he says he now regrets making those comments and confirms that Bitcoin “is real.”
Eventually every non-believer sees the power of Bitcoin.

Remarks such as Dimon’s are worrying: as the CEO of the largest American bank, it’s no surprise that he’d be concerned about losing power over the money supply.
This question has gotten me *really* excited thinking about how renegade this shit can actually be. I'm gonna try to write my most in-depth post ever on decentralized, non-custodial exchange, and its ultimate role in pushing crypto to the point it can truly rival fiat reserves.

Dimon told Fortune in an interview that, “It doesn’t matter, it’s just not gonna happen”, when talking about the future of Bitcoin.
“When the DoJ calls someone up and says that’s an illegal currency and it’s against the laws of the United States and if you do it again—we’re gonna throw you in jail.
“There will be no real non-controlled currency in the world. There’s no government that’s gonna put up with it for long.”
Happy birthday to Bitcoin!
Congratulations on accomplishing more in 9 years than Jamie Dimon has done in his whole career.

Many fans of Bitcion and other cryptocurrencies will be unfazed by Mr Dimon’s opinion, as other forms of currency will inevitably take the place of Bitcoin if it was to be hijacked by the federal banking system.
