10 Disturbing Reasons Why You Should NEVER Drink Soy Milk!

In an effort to join the health revolution, many households have switched over from dairy milk to soy milk. Unlike milk from a cow, soy milk contains no lactose, so for people who avoid dairy, like vegans or those who have a lactose intolerance, soy milk seems like a good choice. Fortified soy milk is even a good source of protein, iron, B vitamins and calcium, while being low in saturated fats and cholesterol. Sounds good on the surface, right? The only problem is that research has shown that consuming soy milk can put your health in serious danger.

The ingredients in soy milk are:

  • Soy milk (Filtered water, whole soybeans)
  • Cane Sugar
  • Sea Salt
  • Carrageenan
  • Natural Flavor
  • Calcium Carbonate
  • Vitamin A palmitate
  • Vitamin D2
  • Riboflavin
  • Vitamin B12

Most of those ingredients probably sound familiar, and they don’t seem all that bad, but carrageenan may be one that you’re unfamiliar with. Carrageenans are a family of linear sulfated polysaccharides that are extracted from red edible seaweeds. They’re commonly used int the food industry for their gelling, thickening and stabilizing properties.

Not only is the body not able to digest carageenan, it has no nutritional value whatsoever. Even though it’s derived from a natural source, it’s destructive to the immune system. It triggers a negative immune response that causes inflammation. Research has linked carrageenan to a higher rate of colon cancer, along with gastrointestinal inflammation that can cause IBS, spastic colon, chronic diarrhea and inflammatory bowel disease.

2. Soybeans contain haemagglutinin, a clot-promoting substance that causes red blood cells to clump together.

3. About 99% of soy is genetically modified, so it contains one of the highest pesticide contamination levels.

4. Soybeans and soy products contain high levels of phytic acid, which inhibits the assimilation of calcium, magnesium, copper, iron and zinc.

I use WestSoy which only contains soybeans and filtered water. Is this fine to use or no soy at all. I did have stage one breast cancer in stag, but have been clear.

    Check out what Dr. Greger has to say about soy. Don’t buy the b.s. this article is selling. This “soy is bad” article has been parroted all over the net and I don’t doubt a bit that the dairy and meat industries are behind it (they don’t want people buying soy milk and tofu instead of cow milk and body parts).

Does this include soy isoflavones found in menopausal relief tablets? I’ve been using Menoquil because my doctor said it was safe.

Misinformation brought to you by the dairy industry. My mom is in remission from breast cancer. Her cancer was brought on by an excess of estrogen. Did she consume soy? Nope- dairy. It has actual estrogen in it. In order to see possible harmful side affects from soy you’d actually have to drink gallons of soy milk daily. Soy is good for you no matter what the dairy or meat industry studies say (yes, the beef industry doesn’t want you eating tofu instead of dead cows).

Here’s a novel idea, try getting info from people that 1. know what they’re talking about and 2. aren’t being paid for by animal ag. Here’s a great site that can give the straight dope on soy and it’s effects on the body. If you use the search engine on the page you can also see the cancer study reviews. One of interest is the study that shows that a whole foods, plant based diet (which includes soy) has been found to resist cancer while dairy (more specifically IGF-1 from animal proteins) has been closely linked as a culprit behind breast (and other) cancers.

You forgot to mention that soy has been found to be the no1 reason to why men has began developing breastcancer. Japanese people Eat very little soy and ONLY slow fermented.
