Salt is essential for a healthy and whole body. “Not only does salt help control your fluid balance, but it also controls the way your muscles and nerves work.” (MedicalNewsToday)

However, the table salt most of us use is not what we need to keep our bodies healthy. The best salt available is naturally gathered sea salt because it comes with other minerals, like potassium and magnesium, that your body needs.

Table salt may contain dangerous chemicals our bodies cannot process.

Salt is essential for hydration.

If you do not have enough salt, you will be dehydrated. Drink all the water you want, it will not fix the problem. For optimal hydration, you need the correct balance of salt and water.

Chris Kresser feels “ that the data supports an intake between 3000 and 7000 milligrams of sodium, or 1.5 to 3.5 teaspoons of salt, per day. People who are quite active or sweat a lot should consume salt on the higher end, and those who are less active may want to consume on the lower end. Of course, there may be some conditions where a moderate salt restriction is warranted, but for the majority of healthy individuals, salting to taste will provide an appropriate level of sodium in the diet.”

We need to put salt into our bodies.
So? What is the best sea salt available?

I believe the best sea salt out there is Icelandic Sea Salt, and this is based on 20 years of research.

I have been studying sea salt for years, and this is the best stuff I have found for obtaining optimal hydration and detoxification. This salt is pure, clean, and full of sodium, magnesium, and potassium. These are all minerals you need to be balanced.

I find the best method for taking this salt for equalization and detoxification is to drink or eat it. Mix it with your morning water, sprinkle some on your food, or add some to your morning smoothie. If you are on a raw food diet, you will see the change almost instantly. You will have more energy and feel healthier as well.

Salt and water are the foundations for good nutrition. If you are missing one or the other, your whole wellness plan will crumble. Build a strong foundation by using the right salt product.

We are told over and over again that salt is bad for us, and we need to stop consuming it. This is only partly true. The salt found in processed foods and Morton’s table salt is the stuff we need to avoid.

Instead, use a sea salt like Icelandic Sea Salt. It is an excellent product, and it is great for you, too.
